Uncaring Ice
Opaque with hoary frost sublime
I coat in rigid uniformity
an inscrutable glacier with rime,
wintering the chill of mediocrity.
Red glowing firebrand inflames
ecstatic depressions that ignite
loving heated morality and shames
a meditative mind in candle light.
Cold fire burns the iced
coincidence, sparking a blaze
culminating in crystal christ,
all warmth withers in his gaze.
Thus I council, at any price:
Guard love's fire from uncaring ice.
