Amen
You got it brother, they are not there to keep the peace, they are there to make the protesters seem violent and scary to the populace. Diminish their concerns by making them the enemy.
My question
What would the response be if the protesters showed up in head-to-toe riot gear to protect themselves?
I mean this in all seriousness - my personal view is that this would be viewed as a deliberate attempt to incite a riot. However, if you look at it from another angle: Isn't that EXACTLY what the police are doing? The duhumanized anonymity and prepared-for-violence dress does ONE thing: it creates a purposefully violent mood. The militarism of the police forces must stop; it is a scary and slippery slope that perpetuates distrust, dislike, and disdain for police. Were it not for the taxation created by traffic violations and the need to control the dissent in the populous, we wouldn't even need them.
Cheers - luckyfunk
